2.17.16 Update from Silver Beach

Silver Beach News for 2.17.16

Be sure to stop by and visit our Scholastic Book Fair. It opens this Friday and continues through next Friday, Feb. 26th.   It will be open 10:30am-12:45pm and 3:00-4:00pm (on Thursday afternoon hours are 1:15-2:15pm). Have a great week! ~ Nicole

After-School Enrichment Update:
YMCA Trailblazers, Starts Feb 23rd. This program introduces boys and girls to the sport of trail running in a fun, challenging environment. Trail Blazers provides a supportive atmosphere while encouraging youth to use trail running as a fun way to stay fit for life. A YMCA Van will pick up at Silver Beach Elementary and drive to beautiful Whatcom County trails. REGISTER:  At the YMCA Business Desk or online at www.whatcomymca.org     YMCA Trailblazers.docx

Community Events
Saturday, February 27th Free Sealant Day at 2200 Unity Street, Bellingham Sign-Up: 360-224-4698
Sealant Day is for children ages 0-18 who are not able to see a dentist every six-months to receive FREE dental care. Each child, depending on their need, will receive an oral health evaluation, free dental cleanings, free exams, free x-rays, free fluoride, free sealants.

Western Washington University Youth Programs registration is now open!  A Western tradition for more than 30 years, students in grades K-12 can sign up for a summer of fun and adventure while space is still available. For details and registration information, visit www.wwu.edu/youth, email [email protected] or call (360) 650-3308.  Assistance League Scholarships are available for summer enrichment for Whatcom County middle and high school students. • Stay connected by liking us on FaceBook.
• All numbered parking spots are reserved for staff. The drop off lane is available for parking 9:00am-2:00pm.
• Box Tops: Send to school in an envelope or bag labeled with your child’s name and teacher.
• It is important that your child(ren)  is(are) at school on time, every day. Playground supervision and breakfast begin at 8:00 a.m. Students are expected to arrive prior to the bell at 8:25.
