3/24/16 Update from Silver Beach

3.24.2016 Weekly Update from Silver Beach

I apologize that this message is a day late.  I am at the Excellence in the Early Grades District Leadership Summit in Chicago.  Silver Beach has been in the capable hands of Aspiring Administrators, Mr. Perigo and Mr. Gutzler. Extra thanks to Mr. Gilmore and Mrs. Riber for the additional work they take on in my absence. I am with a district team and what we’ve heard and learned confirms the great work of the Bellingham Public Schools in early learning. BPS has prioritized creating strong preschool- kindergarten partnerships and the opportunity for 75 four year olds in our community to attend Promise Kindergarten. I am excited to bring back new learning around Family Engagement strategies,  Social & Emotional Competence and  the importance of aligned curriculum and instructional practices between preschool through  third grade. Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend! ~ Nicole
