It is hard to believe it is June! School events, links to summer enrichment opportunities and community events are listed below. Our 5th graders did an oustanding job representing Silver Beach at the 5th grade track meet today. Congratulations to Mr. Perigo’s fifth graders  and Mrs. Tice’s second graders for earning PE Classes of the Year!  On June 7th they get to go with Mrs. Gray to North Coast Gym. A big thank you to Lark Gleckman for coordinating this year’s Family Support Network’s snack program! Lark began the program in 2014 as a way to ensure that students who do not bring a snack to school because of family economic or other challenges have a snack during their school day. Thanks to our magnificent Cafeteria Lead, Carol Thompson, our P.T.O, families who donated snacks and Lark for making sure all students have a snack during their day! ~ Mr. Gilmore

Community Events/Summer Enrichment Opportunites:
Storm Basketball Camps for boys are taking place June 20 through 23.  You’ll learn skills and fundamentals of basketball while having fun, you’ll learn to play as a member of team, and you’ll learn valuable life lessons along the way.   Hall of Fame Coach Dave Dickson, his coaching staff, and high school players will be the instructors.  Brochure attached.

Co-Parenting Communication Workshop. When: Saturday, June 25th 9am-12pm. Where: Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center, 13 Prospect St, Ste 201, Bellingham, WA 98225. Contact: Leah at (360) 676-0122 or [email protected] Cost $10 – please call to register. This course is designed for individuals who are divorced, separated, and never married parents and custodians. The workshop will help participants build skills to manage emotions, be heard, communicate effectively, and reduce co-parenting conflicts. Parents may participate in this workshop alone, or with the other parent. The class will be offered again on Saturday, September 17th.

Local Silver Beach Artist – Veronica Krueger Best offers Summer Art Camps for 3rd-12th grade beginning in July. Check out the website for information.  Artbyveronica.net.  All levels Welcome.

• It is important that your child(ren)  is(are) at school on time, every day. Playground supervision and breakfast begin at 8:00 a.m. Students are expected to arrive prior to the bell at 8:25.
