8/31/16 Update from Silver Beach

Silver Beach News for 8.31.16

It has been an amazing start!  Parents are always welcome to join us on the playground and in the lunchroom.  Our first PTO Food Truck Dinner and Ice Cream Social is next Friday night. Come meet your new PTO Board, learn about volunteering at Silver Beach, upcoming events, and meet other families in our school, all while enjoying dinner, dessert and a movie!  A flyer with additional information will be sent home on Friday. Liking the Silver Beach Facebook page is great way to keep up with the exciting things happening here at school.

Don’t forget: Tomorrow is an early release day. Dismissal is at 1:15.

Have a wonderful three day weekend!

After School Enrichment
We are SO fortunate to be able to offer many after school enrichment programs. Special thanks to Robyn Johnston for all the work she put into developing our programs and process.  Offerings  for September include: Art, Improv, Lego/Bricks, Karate, Tennis, Guitar, Girls on the Run, Neighbor Nature, and Trail Blazers. The online registration is linked here: http://silverbeachelementarypto.digitalpto.com/enrichment/after-school-programs-asp/

Reminders:
We ask for your patience and cooperation with our drop off/pick up process.  We encourage families to drop students off between 8:00-8:15 to ease the congestion.  Before 8:30 am and after 2:30 please do not park between the playground and the school.  This area needs to be clear for our drop off/pick up line.  Once cars enter the parking lot please pull all the way forward before dropping off or picking up your child.  DO NOT STOP and DROP anywhere but in the lane in front of the school.

All numbered parking spots are reserved for staff members.  Please do NOT drop off in the annex alley.

Please label outerwear with your child’s name so that if something is left on the playground we can get it back to the rightful owner.

Due to allergy concerns, food safety, and District Policy prohibiting homemade food, our Parent Advisory Council voted unanimously in spring of 2013 to eliminate birthday treats.  We encourage parents to celebrate their child’s birthday at school with a birthday book. This book can be donated to the classroom or school library. A label will be placed on the inside of the cover to commemorate your child’s special day.
