3/29/2017 Update from Silver Beach

Silver Beach News for 3.29.17

Dear Families,

Last Monday was one of the highlights of my career. Unbeknownst to me Mrs. Riber, Mr. Gilmore, and Mrs. Walstad orchestrated a plan to gather the whole school in the gym so that Dr. Baker and District Representatives could present me with the Leader of the Year Bellingham Promise award.   I walked into the gym, under the impression that Mrs. Gray needed my assistance, and was greeted with the biggest and best, “SURPISE!” ever (there is a video on our website).  I hope I say it often enough how blessed I feel to lead this school community. This award is truly a reflection of the commitment of our staff, students, and families working together to make Silver Beach such a positive place to learn and grow.

Enjoy Spring Break!

From the PTO
Back by popular demand! Dr. Putney, Silver Beach parent and local pediatrician returns this year for a candid conversation on tweens and growing up. Please join us for “Adolescence Explained- Who is this monster in my kitchen?” On Tuesday, April 11th at 6:30pm. Mood swings, change in attitude, body changes…Dr. Putney provides answers, tips and advice on how we can help our kids navigate adolescence. There will be childcare available, but we ask that only parents sit in on the actual discussion. For a wonderful parent & child together program on adolescence, Dr. Putney recommends visiting greatconversations.com for dates on upcoming local discussions. An event has been created on the Silver Beach Facebook page. Please let us know if you will be joining the discussion. Thank you! Hope to see you there!
